In the spotlight, the PK1 and VLA61 from Carl Hansen & Søn
Poul Kjærholm's very first dining chair - the light, elegant and comfortable PK1 - was designed in 1955 and has been produced by Carl Hansen & Søn since 2017.
Now relaunched with a new and durable FSCTM-certified paper cord fabric; a natural and durable material that acquires a beautiful patina over time. Price for the black frame version: 486 Euros + VAT, stainless-steel version: 608 Euros + VAT
Another item to get butterflies in your stomach is the VLA61 Monarch chair. In 1944, Lauritzen designed a building project that was never realised, but the Monarch Chair he designed for this project was finally produced in about 10 copies. This chair was a coveted collector's item that scored high prices at inernational auctions. And so now, for the first time, it is available to a wider audience.
Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects and Carl Hansen & Søn proudly continue their collaboration with the launch of the VLA61 Monarch chair.
The VLA61 Monarch Chair is named after the majestic Monarch butterfly and the name is a tribute to the architect's keen interest in butterflies, which he studied diligently throughout his life.
Earlier this year, Carl Hansen & Son launched Afred Homan's outdoor collection in FSC-certified teak as well as Hans J Wegner's Nesting tables (1952). These functional and space-saving side tables can be used together or separately and have the characteristic Wegner details.
