The Gelderland collection has played a significant role in shaping Dutch design history. Since its first piece of furniture in 1936, the focus has been on timeless, comfortable, durable, and reliable design built to last for generations.
Leading designers such as Ib Kofod Larsen and Rob Parry laid the foundation in the 1950s for Gelderland's enduring principles.
In 1969, Jan des Bouvrie made his debut as a furniture designer with his 430 'Kubus' (Cube) armchair.
Many other designers followed, including Henk Vos and his sons Bart Vos and Roderick Vos, Stefan Scholten, Lex Pot, and Studio Truly Truly, among others.
